It was recently announced by BBC America that Carnival Films, which produced Downton Abbey, will adapt Bernard Cornwell’s book series The Saxon Tales. The new TV series, which will be titled The Last Kingdom, is set in the year 872. It will follow the different kingdoms that occupy what is now modern England as they deal with the threat of the Vikings.
Bernard Cornwell is an English author of historical novels. He is best known for his novels about Napoleonic Wars rifleman Richard Sharpe, which were adapted into a series of Sharpe television films and for The Saxon Tales.
We have proabably over a year until the next season, and the
gaps between seasons make me forget a lot of stuff and characters,
I had to check back to earlier seasons recently, though there were
several parts I did remember.
