Skirnir Thorsson (also called the "Sea-Wolf") is a minor character in The Saxon Stories. He was Skade's Frisian husband.

Biography[]

The Saxon Stories[]

In "Sword Song", he is mentioned for the first time in King Alfred's court as Skade's Frisian husband.

Skirnir's gold hoard is mentioned again by Skade when Uhtred and his followers are in Dumnoc and are discussing their plans in the tavern "The Goose".

According to Skade, Skirnir calls himself a "Jarl", although he is not more than a pirate who rules a place called Zegge (described as a "terpen", a man made hill). He also command of 16 small ships, around 200-300 men and three brothers and six cousins who are loyal to him.

Skirnir "bought" Skade from her mother when she was just a 12-year-old girl. She also describes him as a rude man who beats women and acts like a pig.
