Rognvaldr is a character in The Last Kingdom television series, acting as the central antagonist of the first part of Season 5 and an ally in its second part. Rognvaldr is Sigtryggr's brother. He was believed to be dead, but later turned out to be alive. Rognvaldr was known as an alcoholic and untrustworthy dane. It was revealed that he was a spy for Brida in a plan to attack Eoferwic. After Sigtryggr was executed, Rognvaldr became the new king of Eoferwic and allowed himself to be baptized.

Seven Kings Must Die[]
It's mentioned that Rognvaldr has died in the years since Uhtred retook Bebbanburg and that the people of Eoferwic now look to Uhtred as their lord. Æthelstan uses Rognvaldr's death as justification for claiming Eoferwic for himself.
