Orlyg Orlygson is a minor character in The Saxon Stories. He's an old man living in one of the halls Uhtred visits as Wulf Ranulfson after his return from Frisia.

Orlyg is described to have a white beard and a limp which that he got from an injury to his left leg. He also wears a hammer amulet.
Orlyg tells Uthred about the events in Bebbanburg and the failed attack of Uhtred and his death. Orlyg decorates the story accordingly and brings up Uthred's size and iron shield, something he never carried.
