Fight of Athelney was an event which occurred in The Saxon Stories novel series, and The Last Kingdom television series.
The fight occured in 878 when Skorpa's Viking fleet arrived near the island of Athelney, where King Alfred and some of his remaining followers were hiding after the siege on Winchester. Uhtred and Leofric launched a surprise attack on the ships and burned all of them, thus disadvantaging Skorpa's army.
