Bebbanburg is the name of a fort in Northumbria close to the border with the Scots, named for Bebba, a queen from many years previous. It was the stronghold of Uhtred's family until taken by the Danes when Uhtred was about ten years of age.
Bebbenburg may have been the capitol of the kingdom of Bernicia.
Today, Bebbanburg is known as Bamburgh which is home to the Bamburgh Castle. At the end of Seven Kings Must Die, footage of the present day Bamburgh Castle is shown.
